It's Not About Controlling Calories

This is a great article about the many problems with the current approach to weight loss. Thankfully, the weight gain associated with the low-fat-high-carbohydrate movement is getting more mainstream attention. It's not about calories in versus out. It's about eating quality fats, carbohydrates and proteins. This helps to control insulin. We need insulin to get energy in the form of blood glucose into our cells, but we don't need excessive or constant amounts of insulin in our bloodstream. Insulin is a storage hormone and excessive levels lead to increased fat storage.
