An interesting new study just came out that ties a gluten-free diet to weight loss. It was shown that removing gluten resulted in a loss of body weight without any other dietary or calorie restrictions. If you struggle with weight, inflammation or insulin resistance consider removing gluten from your diet. Additionally, if you are an endurance athlete, removing gluten will help you access your own body fat for energy, instead of depending on high levels of exogenous carbohydrates that can lead to GI distress.
