Grilled Ono

Ono (also called wahoo) is a great fish for those that don’t love fish. It’s meaty and holds up well for grilling. It’s not fatty so do not overcook. A good marinade is key for flavor.

Marinade:

2 tsp fresh garlic, minced
2 tsp fresh ginger, chopped
1/4 cup gluten-free tamari (or soy sauce or coconut aminos)
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tsp sesame oil

4 ono fillets

Prepare the marinade by mixing all ingredients.
Place the ono in the marinade and let sit for 30 minutes.
Preheat the grill to medium high.
Oil the grill grates.
Remove the fish from the marinade but save the marinade.
Place fish directly on grill.
Grill for 3-5 minutes, depending on thickness of filets.
Flip the filet and brush the marinade on top of fish.
Grill for additional 3-5 minutes.
Remove fish from grill and flip before placing on plate.
Brush additional marinade on the top of fish.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
